Entrants

Download and print your entry form here or collect a paper version from Chapel Stores from 1st May 2025.

Entry forms, along with the £5 cash fee, must be returned in an envelope to the shop counter at Chapel Stores by 1st June 2025. Proceeds go to the local Honeypot Children's charity.

We hope the Guide to Making a Scarecrow is helpful.

Judging

Your scarecrow needs to be in position by the 22nd to 30th June to allow judging to take place from 23nd - 29th June 2025. Judges have been selected from across the community.

Scarecrows must be three dimensional (not cut outs) and will be judged against four criteria:

  • Most 'Villagey' - local theme

  • Scariest

  • Most creative

  • Best dressed

Prizes will be awarded in each category with an overall winner.

There will also be a special Kevin House award selected at his discretion.

Celebration + Prizegiving

Explore the scarecrow trail through the village on 28th and 29th June using the trail map that will be available for £2 from Chapel Stores on those days. Trail maps will also be available from School Fields Hall and the Turfcutters from 10am on both days.

Join the celebration on 29th June at School Fields from 12 noon with the prize giving at 3pm. Refreshments will be served, including hot drinks, cakes and a barbecue, with proceeds going to School Fields 'Raising the Roof' project.
