Recruiting paid staff
24th October 2023
We are now recruiting paid staff to join our team to cover our opening hours. The shop will be open from
-
8am - 6pm Monday - Saturday
-
8:30am - 12:00 Sunday and Bank Holidays
We are looking to fill these positions from January 2024.
From a friendly welcome to a quick and easy payment process you will help us deliver a personalised customer experience. You will be the face of our new community business and will play an important role in shaping its future.
We have three similar vacancies, each for 20 hours per week. Each role will include some weekend working and Bank Holidays (on a rota basis) as well as providing holiday and sickness cover for the other staff member(s).
The roles include operating the Post Office Counter and serving customers using our new EPOS system, receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, supporting volunteers, baking bread, sorting newspapers, date checking and keeping our product displays clean and looking their best.
You will need patience and diplomacy, the ability to juggle a number of things at once, good listening skills and a desire to make your community proud. You will become a key figure in the community and benefit from the developing a great local network.
Training will be provided (EPOS, Post Office systems, Food hygiene, policies and procedures) and you will supported by the East Boldre Community Stores Management Committee. It is important that you work well as part of our team as well as independently.
The salary is from £11.44 per hour (the National living wage) and will be based on experience. We will operate a workplace pension scheme.
If you have experience of working in retail or a Post Office and want to join us in this exciting adventure, please email your CV, together with a covering letter, to eastboldrecommunitystores@btinternet.com. Interviews will be held in the second half of November.
