This is one of only two graves on the chapel site that remain in their original position. Their kerbed grave was discovered under a compost heap when the site was cleared as part of the works to create Chapel Stores.

George Etheridge was born in about 1850 to William and Lucy (nee Phillips), the 12th of their 14 children. Parish records show he was baptised at Beaulieu church, aged 5, on 7th October 1855. The 1851 and 1861 censuses shows the family lived in Furzey Lodge Cottage with his father William working as an agricultural labourer.

The 1871 census gives George's occupation as a general labourer.

Elizabeth White was born in 1854 to Charles, an agricultural labourer, and Elizabeth (nee Carpenter), the youngest of their ten children. The 1861 census shows the family living at Ryehill Cottage along with George Carpenter, Elizabeth's widowed grandfather.

George and Elizabeth were married on 30th March 1876 at St Paul's Church, East Boldre and lived in Furzey Lodge. They had eight children although two did not survive infancy.

After his death Elizabeth continued to bring up their three youngest children at Furzey Lodge. The 1901 census shows 15 year old Henry working as a cowboy. By 1911 sons Henry, George William and Albert were all working as labourers and living with Elizabeth at Furzey Lodge. All three served in WWI with George being killed in action at Ypres in 1918, aged 21.

George and Elizabeth are both buried at the chapel but the burial register for that period has not survived.

Elizabeth was the last person to be buried at the chapel. The chapel's graveyard had been closed for new burials around the turn of the century, but hers was allowed as she was interred with George.
