Thomas White was born near Beaulieu Rails (E Boldre) in September 1815 to Charles and Jane (nee Hervey), the 6th of their nine children. He was baptised at Beaulieu church on 5th November 1815.
Mary Hillyer was born in 1810 to Thomas and Ann (nee Pickett) and was the youngest of their two daughters. She was baptised in Beaulieu church on 27th June 1811.
Mary and Thomas were married on 27th March 1836 at Beaulieu church and had eight children together. One died just hours old and was buried at the chapel in 1842.
Thomas worked as a labourer until he retired in the late 1880s. The 1851 census records the family living at North Gate, Beaulieu and subsequent ones show that they moved to Main Road in Beaulieu Rails (E Boldre).
In 1869 their youngest daughter Caroline who lived with them had a baby, Tom, who died just two years later. He was buried at the chapel by the Rev John Bartlett Burt on 16th June 1871. Caroline then moved to London where she married and settled there.
Thomas and Mary both died after the period covered by the surviving burial record but it is likely they were buried by the Rev Henry New, the pastor at the time.
