Jane Bound was born in 1831 to Thomas (an agricultural labourer) and Lucy (nee Prince), the third of their four children. She was baptised in Beaulieu church on the 17th August 1831.

The 1841 census shows Jane, aged 10, living with her parents and three siblings in Beaulieu Rails.

​

She was buried at the chapel by the Rev John Bartlett Burt on 13th July 1846, aged 15.
