Bennett Jones was born in 1791 to Thomas and Mary. He was baptised at Boldre church on 1st May 1791.

​Frances ‘Fanny’ Bundy was born in 1796 to Thomas and his wife. She was baptised at Beaulieu church on 17th November 1796. Aged just 21, she was one of the 20 founding members of East Boldre Baptist church who left the Baptist church in Lymington to set up this newly independent church in 1817.

​Fanny and Bennett were married on 8th April 1822 at Beaulieu church and their daughter, Charlotte, was born in 1830, shortly after Bennet’s death in 1829. ​We have no record, other than his headstone, of his burial at the chapel as this pre-dates the surviving burial register. His is one of the earliest known burials in the chapel graveyard.

​The 1841 and 1851 censuses shows Fanny and daughter Charlotte living together in Beaulieu Rails and the tithe map (below) pinpoints her location in Wallis Lane. Fanny was employed as a school mistress, possibly at Harry Burrard Neale’s nearby school for girls in Cripplegate.

Charlotte married John Kilford in 1855 and the 1861 census shows Fanny (65)  living with them in Rumbridge, Eling.

Fanny died on 13th November 1865 and was buried at the chapel on 19th November 1865 by the Rev John Bartlett Burt.
